Justyna CZERNIAKOWSKA

Justyna Czerniakowska is a designer and educator living and working in Warsaw, Poland. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (Faculty of Graphics, Professor Lech Majewski’s class) where she currently teaches graphic design and typography. Her diploma with rector’s distinction was awarded by ‘2+3D’ Design Magazine. In her work as a freelancer she focuses on culture and social subjects. Her projects oscillates around visual communication and corporate identity, branding, posters, books, catalogues for clients such as Museum of Warsaw, Münchner Stadtmuseum, POLIN Museum of The History of Polish Jews, Museum of Literature, Poster Museum, National Museum in Warsaw, The Warsaw Uprising Museum, Polish theaters and book publishers, record producers, film distributors etc. She is a member of the organizing committee of International Poster Biennale in Warsaw. Her works were included in many international group exhibitions of graphic design, as well as art shows and competitions for example International Poster Triennial in Toyama (2006, 2015). She is invited to the jury of international events related to graphic design, such as the International Poster Biennale in Mexico 2016, Triennal of Poster in Trnava 2018. Awarded in the ‘Polish Graphic Design Awards’ competition in the exhibition design category. She is invited to the jury of international events related to design, such as the International Poster Biennale in Mexico 2016, Tranava Poster Triennial in 2018. Her esthetics of books’ design is highly appreciated. The Polish Association of Book Publishers awarded her four times in the competition of the best book design of the year. In her design, apart from content-based message, she shows creative discipline but also knowledge of the topic, visual art sensitivity and broad range of skills from minimalistic visual simplicity to elaborate projects.
